Wesleyan College seeks a Director of Institutional Events to manage the strategic planning, implementation and oversight of all recruitment and institutional events on campus. Reporting to the Vice President, Enrollment, Marketing & Communications, this individual will oversee the planning and coordination of all events focused on prospective students, campus tours, and other events that involve the entirety of the campus community.
Duties:
- Develop relevant and compelling programming for campus Preview Days, Scholarship Day, tours and other recruitment events.
- Liaise with campus facilities to ensure food, parking, grounds, security, etc. are prepared and briefed ahead events.
- Working with recruitment and marketing, develop and implement marketing strategies to invite and attract prospective students to recruitment events.
- Working with recruitment, marketing and financial aid, develop strategies for event follow up that effectively lead to the enrollment of freshman, transfer, graduate and online students.
- Hire, train and supervise the Wesleyan Ambassadors (student workers).
- Working with other departments on campus, plan and execute the event details for large-scale campus events, such as graduation ceremonies and Honors & Awards Day, and ensure they are aligned with overall institutional strategy.
- Manage event budgets.
Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 5 years’ experience managing large-scale events and ceremonies, preferably in higher education.
- A valid driver’s license
- Strong project management skills and the ability to implement projects on time and on budget
- Proven ability to exercise leadership and motivate staff, students and volunteers to provide an excellent experience to prospective students, families and other external stakeholders.
- Excellent oral communications skills and the ability to speak before large audiences
- Strong written communication and the ability to think through multi-faceted marketing campaigns.
- Physical demands include setting up and tearing down event decoration and standing/walking for long periods of time.

Salary : $64,700 - $81,900
