ROLE
We need an experienced Data Entry Specialist. You’ll support the Department of Interior’s (DOI) U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (USFWS) with a strategic initiative in which it needs to record information about importing and exporting wildlife into the United States. Your job is to transfer information from a set of importation and exportation forms into the USFWS’ database.
Each USFWS’ forms — called “Form 3-177” — has about 45 fields of data, e.g., numbers, words, etc. You’ll enter these 45~ data points into the USFWS database. Historically, a Data Entry Specialist can complete about 25 to 40 forms per hour. Each Form

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform data entry and sort, scan, file, and inventory documents
- Review each Form 3-177 to ensure user entered all necessary data
- Enter Form 3-177 data into database
- Add reference control number to bottom of Form 3-177 once all data is entered into database
- Verify that all Form 3-177 data is entered into database prior to moving to the next screen
- Correct any errors found in Form 3-177 data
- Scan all completed Form 3-177s and associate it with the matching reference control number
- Upload scanned Form 3-177s into database with the matching reference control number
- Scan and upload supplemental files that map to a particular Form 3-177
- Verify that each Form 3-177 and any supplemental files have been properly scanned and uploaded
- Stamp “scanned” on all original Form 3-177s and supplemental files
- Shred and destroy any non-original and/or unnecessary Form 3-177s and supplemental files
- Organize and box original Form 3-177s and supplemental files according to month and date
- Attend training, as needed
