RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Civil Division’s attorneys, paralegals, and legal support staff
- Work with array of stakeholders, e.g., case teams, Litigation Support Unit, DOJ, vendors, etc.
- Apply litigation knowledge to help case teams investigate and litigate cases
- Perform legal data analysis
- Perform conventional paralegal activities and tasks
- Perform legal research, analysis, and writing
- Read legal documents, understand legal and factual issues, and determine options
- Interpret legal data and propose ways to manage, present, and make use of it
- Use legal databases to search and find relevant data and information
- Administer technical reviews of legal documents
- Produce legal data and share it with outside parties
- Support legal discovery lifecycle
- Help identify and resolve discovery issues
- Use litigation software, technologies, and techniques
- Learn and gain mastery in eDiscovery litigation software like Eclipse and Relativity
- Use eDiscovery litigation software to gather, track, process, organize, review, tag, and produce documents
- Help case teams with their investigation, discovery, or trial needs
- Advise case teams on the appropriate litigation software solutions to fulfill their needs
- Assess litigation software solutions and recommend options, best practices, lessons learned, etc.
- Propose litigation software that could help case teams perform early case assessment, document search, and document reviews in the most efficient, timely, and cost-effective manner.
- Provide other electronic litigation support assistance, as required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Strong preference for bachelor’s degree
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Experience with eDiscovery
- Experience with litigation software, e.g., Relativity, Trial Director, Eclipse, Case Map, LAW, Time Map, etc.
