Position Summary: Manages the growth of the assigned client’s business with focus on exceeding the client’s advertising/marketing goals. The Group Account Director plays an essential role in developing and growing the account relationship and expanding agency services.
Role Qualifications:
Must create brilliant strategies and tactical campaigns plus breakthrough product development ideas that drive the client’s business and meet or exceed their expectations
Must ensure creative execution is delivered on time and on budget and strategically aligns with client expectations
Must manage all client communication and act as the main liaison for all aspects of campaign, from strategic brief through production/execution and reporting
Must maintain project budgets and administration to achieve sales profitability
Must contribute to new business opportunities – including idea contribution, research and proposal preparation
Position Responsibilities:
Partner with the SVP, Chief Client Officer, to drive long-term account planning, growth and success
Collaborate and partner with creative teams and strategic planners to deliver high-quality, on-time branding and marketing solutions
Lead key client partnerships – including interacting with senior-level clients, attending relevant meetings, and developing and leading presentations
Lead account teams through inspirational and hands-on leadership, providing active mentoring and opportunities to lead and grow
Recognize great creative work when it is presented and help make it better
Manage accounts to meet profitability goals and timelines
Assist in developing new business opportunities
Embody the values of West Cary Group while maintaining a positive attitude and dedication
Develop new opportunities to grow the client’s business through branding and marketing efforts
Maintain awareness of marketing trends and innovations
Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job experience
10 years of a proven marketing/advertising track record of delivering inspiring work that is effective in market
5 years of advertising agency experience and a solid grasp of the fundamentals of marketing and advertising
Demonstrated ability to engage with senior-level clients and agency leaders
Knowledge of traditional, digital and non-traditional advertising
Experience in traditional marketing channels (print, television, radio, point of sale, promotions) as well as newer media like online marketing, social networking, blogs, etc.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including presentation/pitch skills
Proactive, solutions-oriented attitude
Flexibility (e.g., the ability to handle an account where deadlines are tight and client preferences may change suddenly and with short notice)
Ability to work both independently and as a high-performing team member
Relationship management, project management or process management experience is a must.
