What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scaler - Entry position at WEST FRASER INC?

What you will do:
- Provide fire protection service by monitoring alarm system and taking appropriate action when needed
- Inspect incoming loads of logs in the absence of wood inspector
- Inspect cutting and welding areas during non-operating hours
- Weigh trucks in and out of mill
- Clean, sweep and mop scale house
- Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports to see that they balance
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Required skills and experience you will need:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Ability to work outdoors in all temperatures in loud, high-volume environments performing physical tasks throughout the shift
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position which includes walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform all tasks in accordance with West Fraser safety policies and procedures
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends
- Recognize and support our team culture, communicating effectively with all team members
