What are the responsibilities and job description for the Apprentice, Aircraft Maintenance Technician - Falcon position at West Star Aviation, LLC?
JOB SUMMARY
This hourly, non-exempt position requires a basic knowledge of mechanical skills.The job includes varying amounts of parts replacement or repair, electrical troubleshooting, hydraulic and pneumatic system work and general mechanical applications.Job duties will vary each day and are designated by the Team Leader in charge of the project.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Attendance
- Perform general mechanical functions on aircraft and related systems.This shall include, but not be limited to items such as removal and installation of panels and components, repair work and sheet metal repair or installation.
- Troubleshooting assistance of systems on the aircraft when designated.
- Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
- Aircraft movement, assistance in performance runs and taxiing when required.
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling when required.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- A valid drivers license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal, but not required
- Work schedule assignments will be made based on business need along with demonstrated level of knowledge, skills and experience.
- Must be able to read, write, interpret and speak the English language.
- Complete work in accordance with WSA standard operating procedures, quality requirements, aircraft manuals and FAA regulations.
- Adhere to general work & safety rules.
- Be self-motivated, able to work well in a team-oriented environment and take pride in work performed.
- Able to lift at least 50 lbs or more.
- Routine standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting or stooping.
- Manual work requires routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands.
- Work in performed in an aircraft hangar environment subject to extreme temperature variations from very cold to very hot.
