Job Posting for Academic Interventionist Specialist- 2 Positions at West Virginia Department of Education
- Valid WV Professional Teaching Certificate endorsed in Reading, ELA and Math, Special Education, Reading Specialist, or additional Math endorsement preferred.
- Work with individual students or email groups of students to provide targeted educational interventions and progress monitoring.
- Work with school personnel and student assistance teams in determining appropriate intervention plans.
- Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
- Maintain confidentiality and abide by FERPA regulations.
- Attend team/parent meetings as required and/or provide input to teams regarding student academic strengths and weaknesses.
- Provide high quality instruction to students who are at-risk in reading, writing, and/or mathematics.
- Use identified scientific, research-based interventions focused specifically on individual student remediation.
- Provide appropriate documentation of continuous monitoring of student performance and progress during the interventions.
- Provide the high quality instructional time needed to move students to grade level proficiency or to meet annual proficiency targets.
- Perform related duties and responsibilities as requested by the Director and/or principal.
