POSITION: After School Itinerant K-12 Enrichment Teachers
LOCATION: County wide
LENGTH OF EMPLOYMENT: Varies by job assignment. On an as needed basis. $25 per hour, up to 10 hours per week, for remaninder of curretn school year.
Teachers are hired contingent upon the number of students enrolled in the summer program.

CERTIFICATION/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid West Virginia Teaching certificate
Teachers will work with students providing a variety of enrichment and hands-on learning activities, including but not limited to physical/motor movement activities, STEAM, project-based
learning activities, career exploration, and Arts related activities.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Follow course description and delivery modes as defined by Braxton County Schools.
- Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned
- Work closely with the supervisory/support staff in planning and implementing an excellent learning experience for students in a classroom setting
- Maintain positive communication with parents at least on a weekly basis
- Evaluate continuously the progress of students.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisory/support staff
- Supervise field trips
NOTE: Summer teachers may be required to be trained in First Aid, CPR, and medication administration. In the event that a student would require medication while participating in the summer school program, the successful applicant may be required to administer medications to students.
ADDITIONAL MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause by another school district are not eligible for consideration; applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations are not to be considered eligible for consideration; applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration; and, applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations will not be eligible for consideration.
