    JOB DESCRIPTION
    Manufacturing Production and Design Teacher
    Position: Evaluated by:Principal for Career and Technical Education
    Job Description: The Manufacturing Production and Design Teacher is assigned to deliver a comprehensive instructional program of study. The teacher is also responsible for the facility, equipment, curriculum and safety. The teacher is responsible for complying with federal, state and local laws, policies and procedures for vocational/technical education.
    Qualifications:
    • Applicants must be a certified teacher.
    • Receive an advanced credential from the WVDE in person training summer of 2024 or have wage earning experience required for the career and technical education alternatively certified teacher in Manufacturing Wage-Earning Experience
    • Complete four years (8,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the occupation for which licensure is requested;
    • OR hold a bachelor's degree AND complete two years (4,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested;
    • OR hold an Associate Degree in an area related to the specialization AND complete two (2) years (4,000 clock hours) of satisfactory and reasonably continuous work experience in the area for which licensure is requested.
    • Completion of a full year of training from an approved education program in the specialization may count toward a half year of the work experience requirements.
    • Relevant teaching experience may count as equal to work experience requirements.
    • The successful applicant will have verifiable, related work background in a manufacturing setting, with experience in manufacturing processes, ensuring safe conditions and operations of the working environment, tooling/production equipment, assembly experience, and quality control standards



    Length of Employment: 200 Days
    Responsibilities:

    Manufacturing Production and Design Teacher shall have the following responsibilities and duties:
    • Responsible for implementing adopted and supplemental academic programs.
    • Responsible for implementing 21ST Century technology skills.
    • Responsible for planning and implementing collaborative model with special education students and teachers.
    • May be responsible for planning & implementing designated co-curricular activities and/or programs at the school such as curricular fairs, awards programs and field trips
    • Be accountable for individual student achievement.
    • Responsible for planning and implementing personalized learning for all students.
    • Strong working/communication skills with students, parents and peers.
    • Willing to implement any other programs designated by principal for school improvement.
    • Includes supervisory and/or other duties as assigned by Principal.
    • Summer trainings as needed to further develop the curriculum.
    • Teacher will visit Toyota on a regular basis.
    • Teacher will assist with Work Based Learning.
    • Teacher will assist with outreach to all Mason County Schools.
    • Teacher will be involved with travel to different Toyota plants and initiatives to strengthen manufacturing curriculum.
    • Teacher will connect with other manufacturers to develop additional pathways into the manufacturing field.
    • Teacher may be asked to do additional training in the manufacturing field as needed.
    • To perform other duties as assigned by the administration.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material, the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff members.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Most commonly, the educational setting is indoors with outdoor settings for recess and field trip activities. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate (20-60 dB). Exceptions include gymnasiums as well as vocational/ technical laboratories where the noise levels may be moderate to loud (60-90 dB).
