Employee will be assigned to the Executive Office, Homeland Security and Emergency Response. At the advanced level, performs complex professional work in a statewide specialty area responding to hazardous materials spills and incidents as a member of the Emergency Response Unit. This position is on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week in order to respond to hazardous materials emergencies including but not limited to:

Minimum Qualifications
Training: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
OR
Substitution: Additional full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience as described below may substitute for the required training at the rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty (30) semester hours of training.
AND
Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid professional experience in the acquisition, preservation, protection and enhancement of environmental resources, or in environmental protection, or in an agency specific area related to environmental impact.
OR
Substitution: Graduate coursework from an accredited college or university may substitute for the required experience at the rate of fifteen (15) semester hours of training for every one (1) year of experience.
Promotional Only: Three (3) years of experience as an Environmental Resources Specialist 1 and/or 2 may substitute for the required training and experience.
Other Information
Preference will be given to applicants who has experience with dealing with Hazardous materials, emergency response and management, chemistry.
PG: 16 $38,157 - $70,589
Market Rate: $62,195
Special Hiring Rates:
$41,625.792 - Department of Environmental Protection & Office of Environmental Health Services (SPB 2969)
