What are the responsibilities and job description for the Research Analyst-Public Health position at WESTAT?

Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.
Westat has an opening for a research analyst to join our Public Health and Epidemiology Practice to work with a multidisciplinary team of researchers focused on prevention research and other related areas of public health.
This position is based in our office in Rockville office and is eligible for hybrid or remote work arrangement.
Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate NIH funding applications and published literature to classify research based on an established taxonomy protocol.
- Perform quality control for the classification of funding based on the established taxonomy protocol.
- Manage a taxonomy classification database, conducting routine analytics.
- Conduct portfolio analyses and perform classification and codification.
- Develop training materials and facilitate the delivery of training on established taxonomy protocols.
- Collaborate with the project team on the development of reports, promotional materials, and other deliverables.
Basic Qualifications:
- A master’s degree in public health is required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Candidates must be highly organized, detail-oriented, able to take initiative, and able to work on a breadth of activities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and good interpersonal skills are essential.
