General Statement: Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
This position is responsible for student instruction (grade 5) specifically to enhance proficiency in reading, writing and English language related subjects, to inspire all students to learn to read/write at their age appropriate level and, in the process, motivate many of them to understand the value of language arts to future careers in order to meet our needs for a literate citizenry.

Responsibilities
- Instructs reading, writing, listening and speaking, organization, coordination, and integration at the of students in a classroom setting.
- Manage student learning in accordance with the goals of the District.
- Implement lesson plans, while ensuring the integrity of academic time and in a manner which motivates students to learn and participate.
- Organize students for effective instruction.
- Ensure the adequate supervision to assure health, welfare, and safety of all students.
- Maintain and respect confidentiality of student and school personnel information.
- Comply with and support school and District regulations and policies.
- Must be able to follow oral and written directions and have the ability to establish effective working relationships with staff and students.
- Ability to maintain effective classroom management strategies.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Experience:
- 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Education:
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Certification & Licensing:
- Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications.
