Summary This position is part of the WAPA-UGP-Upper Great Plains, North Dakota Maintenance, Transmission Lines, Jamestown, ND. As a High Voltage Electrician Lineman Foreman II, you must be able to perform the work of the assigned crew. This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at the duty location identified. Responsibilities Work Planning - In collaboration with the supervisor, develop weekly, month and annual work schedules. Develop regular work plans. Based on general instructions from the supervisor, the employee works with the crew to prioritize, coordinate and accomplish routine work for optimum safety and operations, least adverse impact on landowners, the public, other agencies and customers whose activities or property may be involved and fair utilization of personnel. Work Direction - Provide leadership to ensure that the crew has clear work assignments and understands what is expected of them. Provide on-the-job training in work methods and practices. Demonstrate proper work methods for crew members and answers questions from crew members on policies and procedures. Conduct crew meetings. Work Coordination - Identify, secure, and/or coordinate material, personnel, and equipment needed for the timely performance of required task. Participate on committees, work groups, and/or in conferences involving work projects. This means consultation with management in maintenance policy development, work procedures, equipment procedures, equipment operation and maintenance, type and amount of routine maintenance to be done, and type of major equipment and power tools required. Advise the supervisor on progress relative to predefined goals. Report on status and progress of work. Motivate and lead the crew in accomplishing the goals.Administration - Assure that appropriate reports and records are maintained and submitted. This includes initiating drawing revisions as well as upkeep of established maintenance, safety, and environmental records and reports. Use knowledge of health and safety regulations and practices associated with power system maintenance. Review maintenance documents for accuracy and completeness Requirements Conditions of Employment Must be a U.S. Citizen or National. This employer participates in the e-Verify program. If selected, you will be required to complete a questionnaire and are subject to a criminal background check to determine suitability for Federal employment before appointment. Personal maximum weight may not exceed 280 pounds at time of appointment. Personal weight will be determined at the time of physical examination and final job offer will be contingent upon verification that individual's weight does not exceed this amount. If you are tentatively selected for this position, you will be required to have a physical examination that will determine whether you are qualified to perform the duties of the position. An offer of employment will depend upon your successfully passing the physical examination. This position requires completion of an annual medical examination at Federal expense. You must test negative for illegal drugs before placement in the position, and will be subject to random drug testing thereafter. If a determination of the use of illegal drugs is confirmed, non-selection or disciplinary action, up to and including removal from Federal service, may result. The incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to operate vehicles of more than 26,000 pounds GVWR. The hiring organization will work with you on obtaining your CDL. You will be required to possess a pair of fully-encased safety-toed footwear meeting the standard ASTM F 2413-05 upon reporting to work. This position may require regular and recurring overtime. Overtime may be required on short notice to include nights, holidays and weekends in support of related mission requirements. Must be able to obtain a Class A CLD license within 90 days of employment Must be able to obtain and maintain a state driver's license and complete Defensive Drivers certification Must maintain a personal weight without gear no more than 280 pounds Overnight travel of 10 or more nights per month may be required.
