What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cat position at Western Carolina University?
Position Summary
The primary location of this position is on the main Cullowhee, NC campus.
The driver will also complete operating reports, inspect, clean and perform pre-trip safety inspections. Driver may be required to work different shifts as needed.
The operation of shuttles is within and in close proximity of the WCU campus. There are times during the day that the campus is very busy and congested with pedestrians and vehicular traffic which will require the driver to focus on safety during shuttle operations.
This position is 12 months per year, 40 hours / week position; benefits package included.
All full-time drivers are also expected to work weekends when special events on campus require Cat Tran / shuttle service.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Required for this Position You must have a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement (P) or a higher classification of commercial license with passenger endorsement.
Applicants must be able to work in a regimented environment that requires following supervisor direction, write legibly and speak clearly and distinctly over the radio and to passengers.
Applicants must be able to read and comprehend documents, policies, directives and text based electronic media. You will be required to work a flexible schedule that may include evenings, weekends and late nights.
A background check and drivers license history check will be performed on all applicants considered for employment. Minimum Qualifications
Sufficient experience to operate assigned vehicles or equipment.
Additional Requirements : Must possess necessary licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment.
