Job Description


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our Product Engineering team. If you thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, are eager to take on new opportunities & work together with cross functional teams this could be an exciting opportunity for you to be part of and grow your career. As part of Enterprise SSD PE team, you will be responsible for enabling New Product Introduction at scale for Enterprise SSD's.

Responsibilities Include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for Product development support of SSDs with focus on NAND memory
  • The individual will design, develop, and implement effective methods of Test during NPI phases of product development and manufacturing.
  • The individual will create test strategy based on Product/marketing requirements & be a leader in cross functional Memory teams to define test flow and screens to deliver very high quality OEM products requirements.
  • Interact with BU/MS teams to understand Product requirements, DPPM specs & system recovery techniques to design optimized Test flows meeting quality and cost.
  • The individual will lead efforts in Failure Analysis of qualifications failures, Yield issues during qualification/NPI phase and drive for test coverage/test process improvements with corrective actions and Root cause analysis.
  • The individual will review and analyze test data to feedback to Fab and Assembly teams.
  • The individual will interface with different teams (Quality, System, FW, Marketing, Operations) as a PDT Rep to resolve SSD related issues and will sustain products with cost reduction and yield improvements
  • The individual will drive execution and performance to meet aggressive timelines and accurate reporting.
  • Manage, Mentor and provide technical direction and guidance to junior engineers.
  • Proactively pursue areas for improvement and relevant analysis to identify strategic opportunities
  • Present to executive management on the status of the assigned project on a regular basis

Qualifications


REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of BS Degree in Engineering or related field
  • 6-8 years in NVM engineering or related field
  • Knowledge in NAND manufacturing processes
  • Experience with FA tool such as oscilloscope, protocol analyzer, jammer
  • Flash memory testing experience and FA skills is required
  • Experience with coding and programming using languages such as Java,Python

SKILLS:

  • Ability to analyze problem and work independently as required
  • Understand Product Development Life Cycle
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast moving, dynamic environment
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lead cross functional task forces

Compensation & Benefits Details

  • An employee’s pay position within the salary range may be based on several factors including but not limited to (1) relevant education; qualifications; certifications; and experience; (2) skills, ability, knowledge of the job; (3) performance, contribution and results; (4) geographic location; (5) shift; (6) internal and external equity; and (7) business and organizational needs.
  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado or remote jobs that can be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will also be eligible to participate in Western Digital's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan and to receive equity awards under our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs), pursuant to the terms of these programs. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Western Digital’s Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
