Purpose:
Maintain a safe and orderly recovery environment for clients, staff, visitors and guests.
Summary:
Observe people, places, events, and report or correct situations detrimental to the status quo.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Present a positive, courteous, professional role model at all times
- Provide for the safety, comfort, and security of clients by maintaining order and discipline through the enforcement of all house rules
- Regularly perform urine screens, client room and property searches, and document findings in SAM
- Document all client behavioral issues and concerns in SAM for therapist review
- Give oversight to clients regarding their assigned chores and duties
- Investigate all serious occurrences/issues that take place during the shift and immediately report to Supervisor and Therapist
- Assist in intake process through searching, laundering and inventorying personal property
- Supervise and direct clients during fire, bomb threats, and tornado drills and events
- Oversee clients during meal times and smoke breaks
- Accompany and supervise clients during outside and specified inside activities
- Maintain client sign out sheet ensuring that individuals are signing on and off the property
- Report in writing on maintenance work order forms all things requiring repair
- Clean beds of clients after discharge
- Participate in all face-to-face and electronic staff development sessions as required
Qualifications:
- Ability to assess, defuse and bring resolution to abnormal situations
- Experience with substance abuse or mental health population preferred
- TB Test and police clearance
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Working knowledge of HIPAA
Education/Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Computer Skills:
- Ability to use a computer keyboard
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications, Internet, and E-mail
- Experience using electronic medical records preferred
