Purchasing Agent

Job Summary:

Western Electrical Alliance is a small Electrical Distribution shop that is rapidly growing. We are seeking an individual that is very detail oriented with a strong work ethic to fill our Purchasing Agent position. The Purchasing Agent will be responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a solid understanding of supply chain management. We do not require prior experience in the electrical industry, this industry is very specific, we are prepared to do on the job training. A strong work ethic and attention to detail are very important attributes needed to excel in this position.

Responsibilities:

- Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on price, quality, and delivery speed

- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels

- Collaborate with your salesman to determine procurement needs and specifications

- Monitor inventory levels and implement inventory control measures

- Coordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues or delays in delivery

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and changes in supply chain management practices

- Utilize the purchasing software to manage procurement processes

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (preferred)

- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships

- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices

- Willingness to learn the purchasing software

-Basic software knowledge (adobe, excel, microsoft)

- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
