What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Head Start Teacher position at Western Indiana Community Action Agency, Inc.?
Works with Early Head Start families, children, volunteers and staff to provide a comprehensive age appropriate, safe, child-centered learning environment that will ensure that all child issues are addressed in a timely and positive manner in accordance with federal, state, local, and Agency rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The Teacher consistently supports the activities outlined in the Agency’s Strategic Plan.
MINIMUM Qualifications:
- CDA for infant/toddler required or an associate’s degree in child development or early childhood education preferred.
- Experience teaching infants and toddlers preferred.
- Must have demonstrated leadership, managerial, and organizational skills.
- Must have knowledge of early childhood education.
- Must have documented ability to:
- Communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
- Meet and work well with the public.
- Operate PC with working knowledge of Microsoft software applications including Windows, Microsoft Office, and related program software.
- Display an ability to learn and utilize new/custom software applications as required.
- Work well with and without supervision, and with other staff.
