Manage operations of center, including linking center activities with the Iowa SBDC strategic plan, constructing an annual budget, and marketing SBDC services throughout the center’s territory.
Work with Corporate College to promote business training, consulting, and economic development to meet the goals and mission of the College.
Identify the training and educational needs of small businesses and use this information to design, coordinate and/or deliver educational business programs.
Develop a network of business and community resources and connect entrepreneurs with these resources as appropriate to their business lifecycle.
Serve as a leader and advisor to communities transitioning to a more entrepreneurial approach to economic development.
Raise additional outside funding to ensure SBDC is having maximum economic development impact.
Communicate regularly with local legislators and other funding sources to increase the effectiveness of the state SBDC fund development process.
Participate in the statewide SBDC strategic planning process.
Use excellent communication and human relations skills.
Use database applications to create and manage files and communicate requested information, maintaining confidentiality.
