JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Position Overview:

This position is full-time with a regular, but flexible, 40 hour per week schedule. The individual who holds this position is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the Clinical Associates (CAs), especially as it relates to monitoring the safety and well being of program residents. Priority tasks include, but are not limited to; supervision and scheduling of CAs, coordination of orientation and training for CAs, programmatic involvement, and administrative accountability. This position may also be responsible for a variety of tasks that are nonetheless essential under the heading of “Miscellaneous Duties”. This position reports ultimately to the Site Administrator, however can report, by assignment, to an appropriate designee of the Site Administrator.


  • Major Tasks / Responsibilities

  • Clinical Associate Supervision

  • Serves as a member of the CA Interview Team for the assigned program(s)
  • Serves as the direct supervisor for CAs, conducting and documenting no less than one face-to-face individual supervision session per month
  • Conducts personnel activities as expected for proper supervision, oversight, and evaluation of CAs
  • Ensures that CAs are instructed in ethical and professional interactions with consumers
  • Ensures that CAs are instructed on how to handle maladaptive behavioral outbursts in a manner that is constructive and ensures minimal disruption within the program setting
  • Ensures that all CA actions or omissions that are ethically or professionally questionable are immediately reported and addressed
  • Ensures that CAs accurately communicate observations of consumer behaviors and reactions to treatment interventions

  • Clinical Associate Scheduling and Program Coverage

  • Participates in the development and maintenance all coverage schedules
  • Proposes and expedites modifications to the day-to-day coverage schedule to offset vicissitudes
  • Maintains a robust relief pool of part-time CAs
  • Provides “24/7” on-site response to requests by CAs for back-up, support or instruction
  • Serves as coverage when necessary or appropriate
  • Endorses for approval, as appropriate, schedule (or rotation) changes requested by CAs

  • Clinical Associate Orientation and Training

  • Coordinates the orientation schedule for newly hired CAs
  • Ensures proper on-the-job training for both new CAs and veteran CAs when procedures change
  • Assists the Site Administrator in developing and delivering required inservice training to CAs
  • Advises the Site Administrator or designee when additional training is needed for any individual CA or the group as a whole
  • Ensures that CAs’ CPR and First Aid certifications are up-to-date

  • Programmatic Involvement

  • Assists in planning program activities
  • Assists in identifying and securing resources needed to conduct the program
  • Assists in maintaining an inventory of supplies necessary for the operation of the program
  • Assists in coordinating transportation of consumers
  • Facilitates meal-time activities, when appropriate to assignment
  • Assists in the implementation of assigned program activities, including monitoring consumers and their environment to assure the safety of staff and consumers

  • Administrative Accountability

  • Ensures that Medical Record documentation (physical or electronic) is processed, handled, maintained, secured, audited, closed, and archived according to Corporate Policy
  • Ensures timely completion of all non-resident-specific reports, documentation, and paperwork according to FRBH Operations Policy and Procedures and other programmatic protocols

  • Miscellaneous

  • Meets productivity standards as assigned.
  • Attends and participates in program and clinical staff meetings as assigned
  • Serves on committees, task forces, or other groups as assigned
  • Performs other duties or responsibilities as needed or assigned
