Job Summary:
The Curative Agent position searches and analyzes title reports, title commitments, and public records in order to identify, analyze and help cure defects in title and generally de-risk energy projects. Produce accurate, detailed reports summarizing results and/or recommendations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze title reports and title commitments to identify curative issues.
- Prepare reports and memorandums as necessary to explain curative requirements and recommendations.
- Prepare spreadsheets for tracking progress.
- Examines oil and gas leasehold interests.
- Performs heirship research on deceased owners, preparing reports, affidavits, and supporting documentation as needed.
- Conducts outreach to interest owners and other stakeholders to satisfy curative requirements.
- Accurately prepare curative documents.
- Provides quality research and reports based on client needs and criteria.
- Strives to uphold Western Land’s Core values in all aspects of their work
- Other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Ability to read and interpret maps
- Ability to interpret complex documents to obtain and understand legal property descriptions
- Basic familiarity with standard Microsoft Office Software including Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Ability to create and use spreadsheets including multiple worksheets and intermediate functions such as totaling columns, changing formats, and entering/using basic formulas.
- Ability to type using a computer keyboard to enter information rapidly, accurately and proficiently.
- Some positions may require lengthy travel and overnight commitments pg. 2 in order to complete projects
- Proven to follow complex chains of title in an efficient and accurate manner
- Reviews title and heirship work for accuracy
- May involve client interaction
