Shift: Day Shift

Days of Work: Monday – Friday

Weekend Work: As needed

Travel Required: Yes – travel required in WMHC service area

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Salary Range: Depending Upon Experience

Are you ready to join a team that provides compassionate care and support to clients? Western Mental Health Center, located in Marshall, MN, is seeking a full-time Chemical Dependency Specialist (also known as - Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment Specialist).

POSITION SUMMARY: Provide a continuum of substance abuse services including assessment, treatment, education and support for clients along with assuming responsibility for providing needed treatment, and rehabilitation and support services to identified clients with severe and persistent mental illness.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs all duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of Western Mental Health Center.
  • Provides service coordination so that clients will receive optimal chemical dependency recovery services.
  • Provide comprehensive, individualized Integrated Dual Diagnosis Treatment so psychiatric symptoms are reduced.
  • Utilize Illness Management and Recovery to provide ongoing evaluation, problem solving, skill training and supervision for consumers.
  • To provide support and assistance to clients in maintaining family and social relationships so that social isolation is reduced.
  • Available for evening and weekend work as required by needs.
  • Follow billing procedures and requirements.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Is sensitive and responsive to management needs such as data collection and program evaluation.
  • Ability to work utilizing a team approach.
  • Ability to travel as required.
  • Performs on-call work as required by position.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a human service related field from an accredited university/college or must have 6,000 hours of documented clinical experience in providing mental health services to adults.
  • Training or supervised experience in substance abuse treatment.
  • Must have excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills.
