REPORTS TO: Primary Care Service Line Director
DEPARTMENT: Express Care
JOB SUMMARY
The Occupational Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice nurse who helps with all aspects of patient care including diagnosis, treatments, and consultations. Performs the vital task of patient education about preventative care and prescribed treatments. This provider will specialize in occupational health to include, but not limited to; pre-employment physicals, post offer physicals, and work comp. This provider will also assist in seeing Express Care walk-in patients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Manage time well
  • Conduct physicals, order tests, and serve as a patient's primary healthcare provider
  • Keep wait times short
  • Serve as a patient's primary healthcare provider
  • Prescribe medications, if licensed to do so
  • Communicate well with patients and families
  • work well with collaborating physician
  • Document appropriately and timely
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Perform other essential duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Currently licensed to practice as a professional Registered Nurse in the state of Missouri and as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of Missouri
  • Current BLS required
  • Current ACLS preferred
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work within the established policies, procedures and practices by the hospital/clinic.
