Overview
Western National is in search of a Product Manager to join our organization. This role will be responsible for leading product development and maintenance for assigned property & casualty insurance product lines. The Product Manager will work collaboratively with Data and Analytics, Actuarial Services, Underwriting and company leadership to identify and drive product initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Property and Casualty Insurance with a focus in either Personal Lines or Commercial Lines and demonstrated success in performance of the following:
Responsibilities
- Monitor performance of assigned product lines to ensure company objectives are met; identify opportunities and threats to product performance and evaluate and recommend product coverage and pricing additions or modifications to address concerns.
- Research industry and other trends to identify, evaluate and recommend new and modified product offerings; participate in implementation of approved initiatives.
- Understand industry trends in the development and use of predictive models. Partner with actuaries and analysts to ensure models are effective and having anticipated impact after implementation.
- Partner with pricing actuaries in rate review process; provide market, underwriting and analytics to influence pricing proposals.
- Collaborate with underwriting and pricing to vet product, pricing and system recommendations; gain consensus and participate in implementation.
- Build and maintain product models in policy administration system.
- Oversee filing and implementation of products to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in the selection and implementation of appropriate tools and systems to support product development and management.
- Work cross-functionally to develop and execute product management methodologies, governance, guidelines and standards.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of property & casualty product management.
- Detailed understanding of coverage and structure of property / casualty insurance products in personal and /or commercial lines.
- Demonstrated ability to influence others at all levels on key decisions and direction.
- Proven ability to foster a collaborative and productive environment across the organization.
- Intermediate experience in MS Excel and Tableau software.
- Experience maintaining products in policy administration systems.
- Working knowledge of regulatory requirements.
- 4-year degree in relevant field preferred.
- Insurance certifications (CPCU) are preferred.
