Western News&Info, Inc.® has a long history in the business of printing and publishing online and on paper which was established in January 1978. Prior to 1978, the media company had its beginning in the mid-1930s, then the Yuma Daily Sun was purchased in 1953.
In the 1960s, the Prescott Courier, Casa Grande Dispatch, Lake Havasu City Herald, and partial interests in the Mohave (Kingman) Miner were purchased.
In the 1970s, the Mohave Valley News in Bullhead City, the Verde Independent in Cottonwood, and the Camp Verde Bugle also were purchased.
Today we serve communities in Prescott/Prescott Valley and surrounding areas, Cottonwood and the Verde Valley, Williams/Grand Canyon, Kingman, Havasu, and Yuma.
Prescott News Network is looking for a prepress tech for our newspaper and commercial printing facility in Prescott Valley, AZ. The position requires the employee to perform functions necessary to process workflow efficiently and follow quality digital darkroom procedures. Knowledge of computer-to-plate equipment, software, and hardware to produce plates for press production, a plus. Afternoon shift, 32 hrs. per week.
Responsibilities
Checks digital files for color or font problems. Output digital files to plate for offset and UV presses
Knowledge of computer equipment and all software and hardware used in the digital darkroom.
Produces daily shift reports and keeps production managers and other prepress employees informed of work in progress.
Assists in other production departments as needed
Consults with customers on problems or questions with commercial print jobs
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud application preferable
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office application (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Microsoft Windows 10 operating system
Experience with prepress or print industry software is preferable
