What are the responsibilities and job description for the Shop Helper position at Western Pacific Crane & Equipment?
The Shop Helper position is intended to assist the Technicians in everyday duties, ideal candidate would have the desire to move into a tech position and willing to attend and participate in all company provided training to achieve this. This is a fast-paced work environment and ability to communicate effectively with customers and co-workers is required.
Essential Functions
- Follow and promote shop safety rules and practices.
- Clean shop area to ensure safe and workable area.
- Report to Service Manager for daily repair schedule
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on both company owned assets and customer equipment
- Parts runner for various parts and supplies for the shop.
- Detailing, washing and cleaning equipment.
- Help keep shop and yard storage area clean and orderly.
- Clean and pressure wash equipment prior to repairs.
- Operate forklift to move pallets and other equipment.
- Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards on a continuous basis.
- Remove garbage from the shop.
- Assist technicians as requested.
- Must be willing to work in all types of conditions for extended periods of time, such outside, remote field work or in the shop.
- Understand hand signals in the operation of cranes and other equipment.
- Manage outbound and inbound check ins and check outs of rental equipment, including but not limited to walking around equipment and taking damage photos and uploading photos to database.
- Check in of customer equipment arriving at shop for repairs, including identifying and noting pre-existing damage
- Ability to work at heights in a safe manner.
- Follow all company safety rules.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education/skills/Experience.
Required: Minimum High school diploma or equivalent, clean driver’s license,
Desired: good work ethic shop experience preferred.

Salary : $38,600 - $48,900
