Job Posting for Aircraft Maintenance Instructor-High School at Western Suffolk BOCES
The Western Suffolk BOCES Wilson Tech Aviation Facility is conducting an ongoing recruitment for a full time High School Aircraft Maintenance Instructor. This position requires instruction of technical classes within the assigned Aircraft Maintenance curriculum areas which enable the students to meet the current standards of FAA Certification in Airframe and Power plant.
The following NYS Certification is required: Certification Aviation/Aerospace Maintenance, Manufacturing and repair; New York State Certification 5224-Power Plant Maintenance Technician (Certified)
Qualifications and Skills:
Airframe and Power Plant FAA Certification
3-5 years industry experience
Teaching experience a plus
· Must have strong organizational and interpersonal skills
· Must have the ability to effectively interact with and assess students
· Time management and problem solving skills
· Must possess computer skills
· Must have the ability to complete reports/paperwork and meet deadlines
· Prepare, follow, and maintain daily lesson plans; insure their compliance with the current FAR 147 Certification Manual
NYS Teachers Retirement System eligible

Hours – Monday – Friday 7:40 – 2:45 pm – September thru June – School Schedule
