Summary

This role requires a fully competent person who is responsible for all planned maintenance activity in the two plants.  The Planner manages the computerized maintenance management system and is responsible for training users, developing, and entering pm’s into the system.  The planner should help anticipate and eliminate potential delays by planning and coordinating maintenance resources, parts, materials and equipment access.  The planner reports directly to the Maintenance Superintendent.

Duties and Responsibilities

May include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ability to plan work orders and order replacement parts with minimal impact to production.
  • Ensure that safety is considered when developing any job plan.
  • Work under moderate supervision in both technical areas and in direction and productivity.
  • Provide maintenance support for production and engineering activities to ensure reduced downtime and cost.
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing process or technology.
  • Successfully manage small to moderate projects, processes, or work groups.
  • Demonstrates leadership skills and can lead small teams.
  • Ability to troubleshoot equipment and determine solutions and required replacement parts.
  • Knowledge and skills to manage a critical spare parts inventory system.
  • Knowledge of setting up computer systems and developing and tracking required equipment pm’s.

Education/ Experience

  • Advanced degree/certification(s) in technical and/or maintenance related discipline preferred.
  • Three years of experience in a manufacturing type setting with knowledge of operations and equipment maintenance.
  • Familiar with commonly used applications related to process improvement and project management.
  • Strong experience with computers and computer systems such as Microsoft Excel/Word, PowerPoint, SAP, and possible electronic maintenance programs.
  • Experience working on/leading project improvement projects and/or teams.
  • Experience developing and following project and/or production schedules.
  • Have good written and oral communication skills with supervisors, leads, and other employees.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision (must be able to see and distinguish colors), and peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles.
