Westminster at Lake Ridge is a premier Continuing Care Retirement Community serving older adults in three levels of service: Independent Living, Assisted Living and a Health Center. Our team of roughly 220 total employees serves a population of over 400 total residents on 62 acres that back up to the Occoquan reservoir. Ingleside at Rock Creek and Westminster at Lake Ridge have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Chaplain (20 hours per week per location). Ingleside at Rock Creek and Westminster at Lake Ridge are both a not-for-profit, Life Planned Community. Ingleside at Rock Creek is located in Washington D.C. and Westminster at Lake Ridge is located in Lake Ridge, Virginia . The communities are located thirty miles from one another.
Requirements:
Master's Degree from an accredited theological institution, licensing, rostering or ordination by one's faith tradition or equivalent designation; letter of good standing from one's faith tradition; certification as a Board-Certified Chaplain (or willingness to complete certification within 2 years of employment); three years chaplaincy experience preferably with older adults. Candidate must be willing to work two Sundays per month.
Responsibilities:
Provide spiritual and emotional support to residents, family members and staff. Facilitate spiritual programming and worship services for residents from various faith traditions. Work with the Chaplain at each community to ensure that resident's spiritual, cultural and emotional needs are respected.
The successful candidate will have a holistic approach to spiritual care, be knowledgeable about issues concerning older adults, be comfortable working in an inter-faith community, be able to work independently and have exceptional communication and organizational skills.
