Job Description

Westminster-Canterbury on Chesapeake Bay is hiring a full-time Controller for the Accounting Department.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Direct, coordinate, and evaluate accounting and financial controls, including general accounting, patient services, and financial recording.
• Manage the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely processing of financial activities.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures, internal controls, and collaboration with other departments.
• Coordinate third-party billing and ensure prompt collection of accounts.
• Prepare and implement corporate budget plans.
• Assist in financial statement review and projection of residents' ability to pay fees.
• Liaise with auditors and prepare financial information.
• Oversee internal audit program and compliance with policies.
• Manage accounting systems, applications, and data storage.
• Lead and supervise accounting team, including hiring, coaching, and performance reviews.
• Prepare financial reports for executive meetings.
• Assist CFO in cash management and reconciling accounts.
• Monitor payroll tax returns and external filing requirements.
• Communicate concerns and compliance issues to senior management.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a major in accounting or finance.
• CPA (current and in good standing)- Required
• Three years of financial management and systems analysis experience in the healthcare field.
• Two years of experience in public accounting.
• Computer literacy.
