Environmental Manager – Hopewell, VA

The Opportunity:
Maintain an effective environmental management program to comply with regulations for air, water, solid waste, hazardous waste, and right-to-know. Work with all departments to develop methods for cost effective, long term improvement of the environment.

How you will impact WestRock:

  • Establish compliance with all state and federal regulations regarding air, water, solid waste and hazardous waste.
  • Evaluate and establish controls for facility.
  • Supervise operation of effluent system.
  • Effective communication with state and federal environmental agencies (workshops, seminars, etc.).
  • Perform technical research and special projects.
  • Review and confirm compliance with right-to-know.

  • Knowledge of: Computers, including word processing, spreadsheet and data base applications and graphics to store, organize and analyze data.
  • Proficient written and verbal communications
  • Ability to:
  • Plan, schedule, and organize tasks in order to meet deadlines.
  • Analyze and resolve problems
  • Interact effectively with all levels of personnel, both hourly and management as well as outside agencies
  • Work well in a team environment.

Experience/Educational Requirements
:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Science or Engineering, with at least 7 years or related professional experience.
