Senior Cloud Engineer

WEX Inc. seeks a Senior Cloud Engineer in Portland, Maine (telecommuting permitted) to plan, design, develop and test software applications supporting an Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud-based environment. Specific core duties of the position include development, creation, and modification of software applications in support of software enhancements and new products development supporting an AWS cloud-based environment, including leading design and development of software applications in an AWS environment using automated workflows in collaboration with AWS architects and WEX technical account teams; development and maintenance of software application architecture; analysis, design, programming, debugging and modification of software enhancements and new products used in cloud-based software applications; analysis of existing software and formulating logic for new software systems;

analyzing user needs and developing related software solutions; analysis and modification of existing software to correct errors, adapt to new systems, and improve performance; analyzing software requirements and data relating to system capabilities and requirements; design, development and modification of software systems; development and direction of software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation; collaborating with software development teams to research improvements and upgrades that will reduce cost, improve stability, and increase performance; and creating and updating system documentation.

The minimum requirements for the position are a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or a
related field; two years of experience; proficiencies/skills in AWS Technologies, AWS Cloud Formation, TerraForm coding, Ansible, Chef, and Puppet; AWS Security Group and Route Table; scripting in Python, Ruby, Perl, or Bash; Production Operations; and meeting PCI, HIPAA, and Sarbanes-Oxley security
requirements; and two Amazon Web Services (AWS) certifications issued by AWS.
