Dockhand

Wexford is currently seeking a full-time Dock Hand. The Dock Hand is responsible for the Harbour Center operations, including but not limited to the following:

• Ability to operate small watercraft and golf cart.
• Ability to operate business aspects of Harbour Center including sales of snacks, beverages, merchandise, etc.
• Ability to operate the Vessel Locking System using the computer system, manual system and auxiliary system.
• Ability to manage time and prioritize workload.
• Self-motivated and ability to work independently.
• Must be a team player.
• Performs duties as assigned by Harbourmaster through the Harbour Administrative Assistant.
• Helps to ensure that all vessels entering Wexford Harbour meet registration requirements.
• Helps to ensure that all vessel heads are sealed.
• Help owners with marine related emergency procedures including hurricane preparedness.
• Conducts dock walks each day and inspect for defects or damage and immediately report to Harbourmaster so he can schedule repairs.
• At the direction of the Harbourmaster, helps the other members of the harbor team with special events and activities for Property Owners.
• Ensures that the Harbour Center facility, grounds and all docks are maintained in a clean and safe condition.
• Routine maintenance and cleaning duties, including trash removal, that meet established quality standards for all marina related operations including docks, walkways, ramps, equipment, boats and other areas designated by management.
• Operate a variety of equipment such as pressure washers, saws, drills, drain routers and other equipment related to the maintenance of docks.
• Helps to conduct a minimum of one Harbour tour per day to inspect harbour, vessels and docks.
• Responsible for keeping all Wexford boats and marina golf cart clean.
• Performs other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on as needed basis.

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to swim.
• Must be able to stand for a prolonged period of time.
• Must be able to carry, push or pull weight up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to stoop or kneel to secure vessels.
• Must be able to maintain balance while operating a boat.
• Must be able to see computer screen, paperwork, etc.
• Must be able to judge distances.

Ideal candidate must also have excellent customer service skills, communication and organizational skills with a positive attitude and a friendly professional demeanor. Work schedule will vary and may include weekends. Excellent benefit package available after 90 days.
