What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool and Die Technician position at WFQ Inc.?
We have Direct Hire openings for Tool & Die Repair Technicians for one of customers in Romulus. Mininum of 3 years experience as a Tool an Die Technician. 2nd shift-2pm to 10pm
3rd shift 10pm to 6am
- Responsible for the daily maintenance, upkeep and repair all dies on the plant floor
- Lay out metal stock, set up and operate machine tools, and fit and assemble parts to make and repair dies, cutting tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and machinists' hand tools. Create die changeover instructions, die repairs, and end of run issues
- Uses software programs and testing equipment to diagnose malfunctions. Applies reliability and maintainability data to determine proactive improvements to production equipment.
- Repair dies and PM for production assembly vibration welding holding fixtures and welder plates
- Perform PM for productions molds, as require.
- Perform in-press repair and modification of production molds including in-press PM (during the times when specific molds are not being run in production).
- Generate CAD/CAM data as required to support diemaker tasks Make t-nuts that are used on molds.
- Perform welding, heating and burning on tools, dies, molds, jigs, and fixtures, as need for in press fix or PM
- Burn excess plastic from molds, tools, dies, and fixtures when required.
- Inspects by dimensional verification, any and all work performed to verify meeting specifications, as needed
- Repair production mold details such as ejector pins, core pins, and inserts.
- Repair production gauges for assembly operations and assembly pallets.
- Repair minor issues on production tooling and press tryouts to support production.
- Provide samples of tooling as visual aids for engineers as needed
- Troubleshoot new and existing pallets
- Maintenance of gages and holding fixtures

Pay: $29.00 - $30.00 per hour
