DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW The National Corporate Sponsorship division, also known as the Sponsorship Group for Public Television (SGPTV), is charged with securing corporate funding in support of GBH's national productions and those of our producer partners by creating awareness of and demand for national PBS or PBS KIDS sponsorships. JOB OVERVIEW Reporting to the Vice President, Corporate Sponsorship and Membership, the Director of Marketing, National Corporate Sponsorship is responsible for developing and executing the strategy for market awareness and lead generation for corporate sponsorship of the public media programs in SGPTV’s portfolio. The position leads a team of professionals across a range of marketing functions: material development, digital marketing and design. The role is both strategic, providing direction to and managing a strong group of professionals, and hands-on, with day-to-day tactical involvement. The position includes a leadership role with colleagues at PBS and across departments at GBH, managing projects and providing innovative thought-leadership to move the business forward and adapt to changes in the media marketplace. RESPONSIBILITIES Manage marketing team, provide strategic and tactical guidance Provide strategic and tactical input to create successful lead generation campaigns that are measurable and accountable Manage the sponsor messaging creative clearance process, working with PBS Standards and Practices and sponsors. Requires the development of a deep understanding of PBS Funding Standards and Practices, and the ability to communicate those guidelines to sponsors. Lead and participate in special projects, working with key stakeholders within GBH and at PBS. Requires project management and leadership skills and the ability to partner with internal and external staff. Work with internal and external staff to identify new sponsorship recognition opportunities in all areas the content in SGPTV’s portfolio may appear; work with key stakeholders to develop, test, and execute new sponsorship deliverables in these areas Partner with other team leaders within National Corporate Sponsorship to provide support and strategic input Develop and manage marketing budget Establish and nurture relationships with producer partners and their teams Engage with producers, both internal and outside, to obtain the necessary information and materials to successfully market the content Oversee creation of all collateral marketing materials (PowerPoint presentations, one-sheets, web site, emails, and social media posts) Oversee direct reports’ collaboration with sales team and sales support staff; ensure that team’s time is allocated and prioritized appropriately Oversee sponsorship design staff and provide input and feedback on the overall “look and feel” of sponsorship materials SKILL SET Strong management and leadership skills Strong project management skills Strategic thinking skills Ability to partner with colleagues across disciplines Excellent writing skills Strong proofreading skills EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. 10 years experience in marketing or at an advertising agency.
