JOB OVERVIEW GBH News seeks a curious and talented person for a new project that will lead smart, thoughtful, and engaging conversations about culture in the Boston region and beyond. The project is fun and fast-paced and will have hosts who each bring their own sensibilities, experience, and areas of expertise. They will lead smart, thoughtful conversations with the leaders and thinkers shaping the arts and culture scene in Boston, New England, and beyond. The project needs an energetic RADIO PRODUCER to join our team. Reporting to the Executive Producer/Culture Editor and working closely with the hosts, the Producer will be responsible for research, booking guests, and writing scripts. The Producer needs to pay attention to detail, enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and have the temperament to work in fast-paced situations. Experience in broadcast media and live radio is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will be a passionate, curious, informed consumer of the arts. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in pitching and deciding on topics and guests. Write scripts and billboards. Booking guests as needed. Conducting research for hosts Write and produce for digital/multimedia platforms. Other production tasks as needed; other duties as assigned. SKILLS & EXPERIENCE Successfully worked in radio production. Proficient in Audio digital editing Strong editorial judgment, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to meet deadlines. Proven organizational and time management skills. Ability to work successfully in a team. Two-three years of similar experience is strongly preferred.
