Objectives of this role
- Take a lead role in developing/scoping new-business proposals and presentations
- Identify trends and customer needs, building a sales pipeline/funnel for short/medium/long term
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies
- Motivate the operations teams working on state and local government contracts, track performance, and report metrics
- Promote co-marketing and cross-selling of applicable WGI services to clients' needs
Responsibilities
- Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers, meet regularly with other market leaders and operations managers and stakeholders to formulate strategy
- Manage proposal response process, including detailed RFP requirements, content creation, and input from various sources
- Generate new leads, identify, contact client decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select deals in line with strategies, and facilitate capabilities presentation logistics
- Develop and implement overarching outbound sales and business development strategy, sales processes, structure, and best practices across the company
- Support scoping and pricing with business-value analysis, and negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals
- Maintain and share professional knowledge internally to WGI and at national venues through education, networking, events, and presentations.
Required skills and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, and minimum of 10 years work experience
- Successful track record in sales and negotiation
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proficiency in Microsoft suite of programs; Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint etc.
- Proficiency in data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting
- Self-starter with a proven ability to plan and manage oneself and supporting resources
- Valid Driver License
Preferred skills and qualifications
- Experience working in with strong connections
- Working background within public planning, infrastructure or utilities, asset management, and use of GIS or geomatics related technology is desired
- Experience working in sales or business development, with proven performance in meeting objectives
- Existing business relationships within our market (geospatial services) is desirable; however, a professional background with experience in state and local government is highly desirable.
- Experience with CRM software (ex: AEC360 )
- Ability to create and deliver presentations effectively
