This position oversees specialized planning functions such as large-scale new development proposals and provides overall management of division-related and multidisciplinary planning issues. Manages and participates in highly complex professional planning activities.

Responsibilities
- Reviews master plans and site plans for compliance with land development regulations.
- Perform and manage professional land development and entitlement projects, including Future Land Use and Comprehensive Plan Amendments, Rezoning, Conditional Use, Variances, Waivers, Development Order Amendments and Site Plan approvals.
- Reviews all documents for submittal, including technical documents such as due diligence reports, justification statements, applications packages, site plans and multidisciplinary submittals (engineering, landscape architecture).
- Create and maintain project schedules, from due diligence through entitlements and permitting.
- Manage a multidisciplinary project team, maintaining schedules and tracking progress.
- Lobbying of elected officials and representation at public hearings.
- Representation of projects before client, local government staff, zoning boards, citizen groups, and elected bodies, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Organize community outreach meetings, stakeholder interviews, innovative public engagement techniques, and design charrettes.
- Financial management of projects including budgets, invoicing, collections, and utilization.
- Contribute to department sales.
- Assist in developing and managing single family, master plan, and horizontal land development clients in coordination with PLACE business development leaders.
- Work independently and as part of a close-knit team. And,
- Reports to the Director of Land Development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in urban planning, landscape architecture, engineering, or a closely related field; Master’s Degree preferred.
- 10 years of experience (Palm Beach County experience preferred)
- 5 of supervisory experience.
- AICP Certification, PLA or PE Licensure required.
- Must be innovative, detail-oriented, experienced in highly visible/controversial projects.
- Capable of managing multiple, high priority assignments.
- Strong interpersonal skills to develop good working relationships at various levels.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret research data for reports and apply mathematic techniques in practical situations.
- Reading comprehension to understand technical and legal materials.
- Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously and manage projects effectively and meet firm deadlines
- Excellent written and presentation skills for effective technical report preparation and
- Proficient in research methods and statistical principles related to urban growth and
- Travel to other office locations may be required.
