Qualifications
- At least five years of commercial insurance experience is preferred.
- Property & Casualty License required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication demonstrating a strong sense of customer service.
- Extensive knowledge of commercial insurance, including carrier requirements, appetites, markets, and underwriting guidelines.
- Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with carriers, underwriters, and marketing representatives.
- Demonstrated computer literacy, including extensive experience with Office Suite.
- Ability to follow complex processes while maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
- AMS360 experience preferred.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the commercial insurance department, including all staff, resources, and activities.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to ensure the department meets or exceeds its targets and objectives.
- Ensure the delivery of excellent customer service to our clients.
- Develop and maintain relationships with carriers, ensuring the agency maintains positive rapport and issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Maintain a vast knowledge base of carrier appetites, underwriting guidelines, and best-practices.
- Review and approve policy applications and renewals, ensuring compliance with company policies and regulations.
- Manage and maintain accurate records and documentation related to commercial insurance policies, claims, and underwriting.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness in the department.
- Maintain standard operating procedures according to industry regulations, trends, and best practices.
- Help hire, train, and supervise department staff, provide performance feedback and coaching as needed, and follow company procedures.
