The Role:
Reporting to the Founder & President, C Talent @ Whalar, the Director of Consulting, Disability & Access will have the opportunity to make systemic, lasting, and groundbreaking changes. C Talent's Disability & Access consulting builds resilient infrastructure promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization and fosters innovation by helping companies become accessible beyond compliance.
An example of a project that you would manage: Our client has requested help educating their design team on accessible content. In this role, you would create a curriculum around their needs and any additional materials they have purchased (such as toolkits), select the relevant contractors to conduct the training, and identify ways in which we could further work with the client to help with access & disability representation. For example, if the client does not have high-quality stock imagery, you would propose that C Talent creates a disability-centric stock library for them).
Some of our current and previous clients include; Virgin Media, Twitter, International Paralympic Committee, NBC, The LEGO Group, and GIPHY.
Responsibilities:
- Building new & sustained relationships with potential clients (such as fortune 500 companies)
- Building a talent pool of disability & access consultants with specific knowledge & lived experience
- Lead, conduct training and create customized plans for consulting clients on subjects including but not limited to; disability & accessibility, corporate social responsibility, disability justice, inclusive & adaptive design more.
- Work in tandem with talent managers & wider Whalar teams/departments to identify disability & accessibility consulting opportunities
- Engage and participate in speaking opportunities
Qualifications:
- Must be well versed in the Social Model of Disability and disability justice
- Extensive project management or project planning experience
- You are well versed in the ADA
- Must be active in the disabled community
- Must be a disability and accessibility advocate
- Experience within the film/TV/media/advertising industry would be nice to have but not a requirement
