We are currently looking for a motivated, reliable, inspiring and driven person to work in our management team. We pride ourselves on attention to detail and the quality of our valued cleaners. The ideal candidate will be able to perform all the duties required and be an outstanding representative of Whatcom Janitorial to clients and employees.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a night shift position consisting of Full-time hours - non-exempt.

Shift: Mon- Fri w/rotating Sunday Shift - 35-40 hrs. per week shift starts at 8:30am - 5pm most days. You may be required to work outside of these hours to support our team.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
As an operations manager you are a key part of our management team and oversee some HR duties, such as attracting talent and setting training standards and hiring procedures. You also analyze and improve organizational processes, and work to improve quality, productivity and efficiency. You are also direct support to janitorial supervisors.

Duties consist of:

Customer Service & Office Tasks

  • Answering Phones
  • Responding to emails
  • Implementing procedures
  • Investigating customer complaints
  • Issuing memos

Bidding on New Jobs

  • Meeting with potential clients
  • Creating Bids
  • Updating customer account changes
  • Creating new customer accounts /files

Maintaining Schedules for Cleaners

  • New accounts
  • Creating task/events
  • Monitoring daily schedules
  • Rescheduling canceled cleans, notify cleaners/clients
  • Back up cleaner

Human Resources

  • Recruiting/Terminating Employees
  • New Employee Orientation
  • Handling/Documenting Employee Concerns

Training Supervisors

  • Account cleaning training with supervisor/cleaners
  • Annual safety trainings
  • New employee orientation training

Maintaining Safety Program & SDS’s

  • Making sure safety program, blood borne pathogen and SDS sheets are up to date.
  • Maintaining Safety Posters in in Compliance w/Federal, State and local laws
  • Conducting and Documenting Safety Meetings in Compliance with OSHA, L & I and any other Federal, State and local Laws.

Supervisor Support

  • Monitor inspections

Direct support to Day and Night shift supervisors

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Knowledge

Some knowledge of standard cleaning methods, equipment, and supplies used in office and commercial cleaning.
Knowledge of janitorial safety procedures & compliance of all regulations regarding chemical storage and handling or willingness to learn!

Leadership skills
Independence. Willingness to complete tasks and go the extra mile without being directed.

  • Communication skills.

Ability to influence employees in a team effort management style.

  • Efficiency and time management

Proficient computer and Microsoft office programs knowledge (word, excel, outlook) - required.

Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent w/ 1-2 years experience working in the janitorial/maintenance field in a management/supervisory role - Preferred but not required.
  • Licenses & Requirements

Valid Driver’s License
Valid Auto Insurance – no more than 2 motor vehicle violations in the past 3 years
Personal Vehicle

Work Environment
30% Field work
70% Office

Physical Demands
Require 10% travel located in the Whatcom and Skagit County area
Walking, standing, bending over, kneeling, sitting for extended periods in-office setting & field.
Work in both office and commercial environments (PPE use required in some locations).
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
