Job Summary: The Home Health Aide / Homemaker Companion Aide will provide a combination of non-medical support, companionship, and personal care services to clients in their homes. Responsibilities include assisting with daily activities, monitoring health conditions, ensuring a safe and clean living environment, and offering emotional support and companionship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Help clients with mobility and transfers, including the use of assistive devices.
- Monitor clients' health by checking vital signs and reporting any changes in condition to the supervisor or nurse.
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities, conversations, and outings.
- Assist with grocery shopping, errands, and transportation to appointments.
- Help clients with organizing their homes and managing household tasks.
- Assist with medication reminders and ensure clients follow their prescribed medication schedules.
- Monitor clients’ safety and well-being, reporting any changes in condition or concerns to the supervisor.
- Support clients in maintaining independence and promoting a positive quality of life.
- Follow individualized care plans and provide services in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of a state-approved Home Health Aide training program (for HHA duties).
- Current certification as a Home Health Aide (HHA) in florida (for HHA duties).
- Previous experience in home care, caregiving, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor.
- Reliable and punctual with strong organizational skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
