This team member is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing and performing scheduled maintenance on fuel powered (I.C.) and electric forklifts as well as other related material handling equipment based on customer needs and requirements in the field.



 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:

  • Troubleshoot and perform basic to complex repairs of heavy material handling equipment
  • Perform thorough inspections to identify any repairs that are needed.
  • Precise documenting and reporting of all findings of potential or additional repairs necessary on every work order
  • Manage truck parts stock and order parts needed for jobs proactively
  • Consult with customers in regard to needed repairs or additional maintenance items that are needed
  • Must follow all safety procedure and safely operate tools, lifts, etc.
  • The ability to understand the necessary service and training manuals, including the ability to interpret schematics/diagrams and effectively use electrical diagnostic instruments
  • Keep pace with industry innovations in order to make sound recommendations to customers
  • Must be self-motivated and organized; manage billable time and work in process (WHIP) efficiently
  • Effectively communicate thoroughly with customers, co-workers and management
  • Ability/willingness to serve as an advisor/mentor to provide guidance, advice, feedback, and support to peers

SKILLS:

  • High School Diploma or GED is required
  • 5 yrs. of material handling experience preferred
  • Must have valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check as well as physical and drug screening.
  • Technicians are required to provide their own tools
  • Technicians are encouraged to continue education and maintain industry standards during tenure
  • Project a positive and professional image/attitude while interacting with fellow employees, customers, and management in a cooperative, supportive, and courteous manner



WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Travel to various job sites; Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions such as wet and/or humid environments, extreme cold and/or heat, dusty and noisy work environments

  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use fingers, hands, arms dexterously.
  • Must occasionally lift/ transport up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision.

Job Type: Full-time (40 hours a week) Monday - Friday


 

Compensation: Competitive pay; on average starting around $25 /hr., based on skill and experience.
