Job Title: Donation Sorter/Driver
Exempt/Non-Exempt: Non-Exempt
Reports to: Donation Center Manager
Full or Part-time: Part-Time
Completion Date: June 2024
Team: Thrift Store
Position Summary: The Donation Sorter/Driver is responsible for receiving, sorting, organizing, inspecting all donations, and driving the Thrift Store truck to the Wheeler Mission Donation Center. They will provide excellent customer service to Wheeler Mission’s donors and show care and respect to all donations received.

This position has no direct reports but may occasionally supervise groups of volunteers at the donation center.

- Greet customers for donation drop-off and assist with the unloading of donations.
- Provide instructions for tax forms.
- Offer assistance to donors as needed.
- Inspect, sort, handle, and label donations for sale at the Thrift Store.
- Operate pallet jacks or forklifts to move donations within the warehouse.
- Work effectively in a team environment with coworkers and volunteer groups.
- Maintain a safe and organized warehouse by following instructions given by managers and collaborating with team members.
- Drive Donation truck to Donation Center and back to the Thrift Store
- Obey all traffic laws and posted road signs.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma, GED, or HSE
- Verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with others.
- Ability to learn how to manage time in payroll software
- Belief in the inerrancy of the Holy Bible
- Alignment with WM values
- Adherence to WM Employee Policies
- Stand for long periods of time
- Kneel, stoop, twist, and bend-over frequently during the shift
- Hold and grasp donated objects when loading and unloading donations.
- Physical ability to perform normal office functions including sitting for prolonged periods of time and the endurance to remain standing for prolonged periods of time
- Frequently lift and move donations up to 50 pounds.
- Work in a warehouse environment that may expose workers to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, and dirt.
- Use donation center pallet jacks.
- Perform manual labor indoors and outdoors.
- A valid Indiana state-issued driver’s license and be insurable through Wheeler Mission’s provider.
- Conflict of Interest Policy, Confidentiality Policy, and Statement of Faith
- Post-offer acceptable background check required for all positions.
- All employees must sign and adhere to WM Drugs and Alcohol policy and remain free from addiction to drugs or alcohol. Candidates must submit to and pass a drug and/or alcohol test. This drug and/or alcohol testing may occur any time after the applicant receives a conditional offer of employment.
