About this role
We are looking to add an experienced Project Manager to our growing team. As a Construction Project Manager, you will lead critical construction projects at the Whinstone US Data Center in Rockdale, TX. You’ll be working cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders, interfacing with end users, construction engineering, and manufacturing engineering while tracking the project schedule and overall success.
Essential Functions
- Ensure on time, or ahead of time delivery of construction projects, solve problems and prioritize execution.
- Ability to evaluate construction drawings, create biddable work packages and validate contractor bids against cost/schedule estimates.
- Evaluate, negotiate and process change orders, submittals and RFIs.
- Provide clear, concise direction to trades helping prioritize efficient build-out.
- Coordinate with the trades to sequence work adequately.
- Troubleshoot, walk down, and resolve issues that arise from the field.
- Quickly respond to queries and resolve any technical barriers to completion.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- 5 years of experience managing construction projects in large commercial/industrial environments.
- Familiar with code compliance and building occupancy.
- In-depth understanding of construction procedures and project management principles.
- Proficient with Microsoft Project, P6, or equivalent project management software is required.
- Confident decision-making ability and coordinating among key stakeholders.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of industry safety standards.
Required / Preferred Education
- 5 years in Construction Project Management.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification is preferred.
- Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organizational skills that support projects, sub-contractors, and office support staff.
- Knowledge of principles of architecture, engineering, and construction
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
