This role in summary
Whirlpool is currently seeking a qualified candidate for a Human Resources (HR) Specialist in our Amana, IA office to join our HR Operations Organization. This role acts as the local arm of the HR Operations team and manages the daily functions of on-site HR resources at our Amana location. You will be expected to work collaboratively within a team to share ideas, ownership, and accountability for driving improvements and consistency of execution for key HR processes, participate in HR team meetings and other meetings as required as a means to take a proactive approach to HR activities and work.
Your responsibilities will include
- Manage local HR activities (e.g. application of local policies and practices, recruiting activities, time and attendance processes, payroll, personnel file maintenance, etc.)
- Support employees and people leaders with inquiries, concerns and complaints
- Participate in HR Operations by providing feedback, insights, and continuous improvement
- Flex time on occasion to support all shifts of operation
Minimum requirements
- Bachelors Degree
- 2 years experience in Human Resources
Preferred skills and experiences
- Experience with one or more of the following in a business setting: goal setting, performance assessment and improvement, compensation practices, talent review, talent management, attendance, leave practices, or reductions in force.
- Experience with National and State Employment Laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), etc.
- Experience in a lean manufacturing environment; knowledge specifically related to World Class Manufacturing (WCM).
- Proficient in Google Suite
- Strong analytical skills; ability to organize and analyze data in order to develop and implement solutions and/or recommendations to identify the root cause and mitigate risks, while continuously improving key performance indicators.
- Experience in Talent Management Platforms (Success Factors)
- Experience with one or more of the following in a business setting: goal setting, performance assessment and improvement, compensation practices, talent review, talent management, attendance, leave practices, or reductions in force.
- Experience in leading continuous improvement activities
- Strong consulting and problem resolution experience
