Job Description / Qualifications
Job Summary
Responsible for all aspects of White Cap’s debt, cash management, and insurance, including strategy, compliance, and external reporting. Interface with external stakeholders, including lenders, trustees, ratings agencies, legal counsels, and bondholders.
Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Manages the company’s existing debt capital structure and develops a long-term strategy.
- Stays abreast of relevant trends in financial markets, including interest rates, currency exchange rates, equity and debt trading levels, commodity inflation rates, and peer metrics, such as absolute and relative debt levels, capital structures, published targets, capital allocation priorities, and hedging strategies.
- Leads debt issuance and modification and is the liaison for legal counsels.
- Responsible for company’s asset-based loan facility (ABL) secured by the company’s current assets, and closely monitors the value of the collateral.
- Manages interest rate swaps, currency, and other hedging needs and opportunities.
- Serves as liaison to external stakeholders, including lenders, trustees, ratings agencies, and bondholders.
- Monitors and forecasts liquidity on a quarterly and long-term basis.
- Oversees daily cash reporting and short-term projections.
- Summarizes financial results and provides context to senior management.
- Contributes to quarterly forecasts, the annual strategic planning process, and a long-range forecast.
- Supports external financial reporting by estimating the fair value of debt and interest rate hedges, calculating debt obligations and interest rate sensitivities, and reviewing financial statements and footnotes.
- Rationalizes and optimizes reports to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensures compliance with debt covenants.
- Supports quarterly, annual, and interim audit needs.
- Manages bank administration, including opening and closing accounts, reviewing signers, establishing proper thresholds, establishing appropriate services, and controlling costs.
- Maintains key Treasury controls, including monthly calculations of debt, accrued interest, interest expense, and credit agreement/indenture definitions.
- Ensures that shareholders and bondholders receive up-to-date information on White Cap, especially financial reporting.
- Reviews sufficiency of key controls, delegation of authority, and team responsibilities.
- Manages property, casualty, workers compensation, and general liability insurance programs. Oversees the annual renewal process.
- Leads Treasury and Risk Management workstreams for any acquisitions and integrations.
- Leads merchant acceptance process improvements.
- Evaluates and implements any Treasury technologies.
- Advises internal stakeholders about the appropriate cost of capital to use in various analyses.
- Provides oversight and leadership to a Treasury and Risk Management team. Trains, mentors, and develops staff.
- Assists Senior Management with other special projects and scenario analyses.
Nature and Scope
- Problems are typically defined by higher level leadership. Problems are difficult. Solutions require analysis and investigation.
- Decides how to achieve planned results within an organization's plans, policies, and guidelines. May set or change plans/goals within respective department or area.
- May manage department via multiple layers of managers OR directly supervise a staff of professional individual contributors at the senior or technical advisor level.
Work Environment
- Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
- Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
- Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
Education and Experience
Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 9 years of experience in a related field, including several years in a management/supervisory capacity.

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Capital Markets and Strategy experience preferred.
- Seven years experience in Treasury, Strategy, or Finance within a large public company.
- Five years management experience.
