Duties:
- The MDS Coordinator is responsible for the organization and coordination of the case-mix management process.
- The MDS Coordinator is responsible for performing utilization review responsibilities and monitoring residents for continued skilled care eligibility
- The MDS Coordinator conducts audits of clinical records and provides education of interdisciplinary team members regarding case-mix reimbursement, accurate coding of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) and documentation requirements.
- The MDS Coordinator is a resource for physicians, rehabilitation staff, social service and nursing facility staff regarding Medicare coverage
- The MDS Coordinator assumes primary responsibility for the completion of the MDSs, electronic submission and tracking the progress of all MDSs as well as the outcome of the billing process.
- The MDS Coordinator devises care plans and is the chairperson of the interdisciplinary care planning meeting.
- More duties as required
Requirements:
- 1 year previous MDS/RNAC experience
- Registered Nurse in the State of PA
- Knowledge of Medicare strong preference
