Your Role at White Oak:
The Associate, Research is an opportunity to gain a comprehensive understanding of our business and industry by collaborating cross-functionally to conduct detailed market analysis, create investment summaries and develop company reports. The position will also support the Capital Markets team by assisting with investor requests, reporting, and marketing materials. This will allow the candidate to gain exposure and broad experience through cross departmental responsibilities within the Company. The Associate, Research will have the opportunity to provide increasing assistance for the Research, Capital Markets and Investments teams with potential to develop a diverse career path.
Essential Duties
- Research and analyze data including demographics, property details, sub-markets, rent and sales comps, and broader market area data and market specifics
- Assist in creating investment summaries and property reports for presentation to the investment committee, potential investors, and potential debt partners
- Assist in compiling news, industry reports, and relevant economic information
- Assist in developing and maintaining company reports including internal reports and external reports for current and prospective investors
- Analyze the multifamily sponsor competitive set
- Collaborate with cross departmental teams to understand risks/opportunities by assimilating quantitative and qualitative data with internal expertise
Investments and Capital Markets
- Participate in investment and market due diligence and overall transaction support; assist in resolving diligence related issues
- Assist with updating all marketing materials, including corporate pitch deck, due diligence questionnaire, transaction activity reports
- Assist with addressing ad-hoc investor presentations and requests, such as requests for proposals for funds the Company launches, in collaboration with many departments
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree required
- Strong skills for compiling data and information for an external audience, including graphics, charts, and graphs, along with persuasive, professional writing
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Self-starter and can work well with limited direction
- Excellent written and verbal and communication skills
- Ability to operate with a high degree of flexibility and to adapt to changing demands
- Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Power Point; experience with, or aptitude to learn, Publisher or similar tools.
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with financial analysis and modeling
