Job Title: Vocational Coach
Employment Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Position Summary: This position is part of the Growing Teens for Life program, which is a specialized vocational and workforce development program that uses a hands-on learning approach through direct skills training, coaching, and behavior modeling. This Vocational Coach will work primarily in the café at the 50 East Garden Center & Café. They will provide student interns with foundational work skills, ensure they develop employability skills, and create meaningful work assignments that prepare them for future employment.
Responsibilities:
The Vocational Coach will supervise daily tasks, teach essential life skills, and provide a supportive mentoring relationship. In addition to hands-on work in the café, the Vocational Coach will provide excellent customer service and ensure all visitors have a positive experience. Additional daily responsibilities include managing inventory, processing sales, preparing daily reports, and maintaining cleanliness and organization.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be an individual who aligns with Josiah White's mission and values and can foster a Christ-centered environment for teenage interns.
- Must demonstrate a professional commitment to work with children and youth of all ages, their families, the referring agency, community professionals, and the Josiah White’s treatment team.
- The role demands strong leadership, effective communication, and the ability to intervene in challenging situations while modeling professional behavior.
- Candidates must be physically capable of performing the duties required.
Schedule: 50 East hours are Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 5 pm, and Saturday from 8 am to 4 pm. Hours of work would fall within this timeframe. May be required to work a rotating schedule on Saturdays or for special events.
